Eco Lips Pure and Simple

Eco Lips Pure and Simple
$ 1.99
[Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Organic Cera Alba (Beeswax), Organic Flavor, D-Alpha Tocopherol (Vitamin E)]

Flavors such as: Grape, Coconut, and Strawberry-Kiwi

I got to try the Grape and Strawberry-Kiwi

These balms have simple ingredients and are really awesome. They represent the Eco Lip line well. The glide is typical and great. Silky smooth and refreshed lips.

They smell wonderful. Each lip balm smells like its scent, respectively. They also taste pretty accurate. They are not super sweet and are lightly but well flavored, and I really appreciate that in a balm.

They last while, but not as long as other Eco Lips balm that I have reviewed. I believe it comes from the fact that they are mouth wateringly great flavors, I may have licked it off. But overall, it still lasts a few hours and stays on through eating most things. I found ice cream does a number of this balm.

I prefer the Grape over the Strawberry-Kiwi, but I am biased. However, the Strawberry-Kiwi was really great. A very refreshing berry taste with a nice tropical twist.

My only issue with these balms is that they have a bit of a gloss to them. Its not a terrible thing but for this balm being pure and simple, I would like less shine and a more natural lip cover.

Overall, this balm is just another product that represents the quality products of Eco Lips.

Eco Lips Lavender

Eco Lips Lavender
$2.99
from Ecolips.com

[Organic sunflower oil, organic beeswax, organic jojoba oil, organic calendula, essential oil of lavender, Vitamin E, rosemary extract]

This is a crappy photo. I'm sorry but I'm having some digital camera issues.

This is one of Eco Lips's Beta Balm, which means its on a sort of trial basis. So far, as evidence from the customer feedback section on the website, people think this lip balm is amazing. As do I.

This is just another example of Eco Lips greatness. (I'll pretend that they never invented those EcoTints....) The glide is typical of their fantastic beeswax products. (Sorry Vegs...this isn't for you!)

It does not feel waxy or greasy, just silky smooth on your lips. And let me GUSH about the scent...

Lavender has never smelt this great in anything other than the actual herb. WOW. This lavender is so real and so relaxing. It is one of the greatest scents I have ever encountered.
I put this on before I go to bed or whenever I get really stressed.

This stuff really is cream of the crop of the Eco Lips lip balm line.

Overall, You should buy this. Use it daily. Feel your lips getting smoother and smoother and feel stress melt away.

Ecolips Hemp 98% Organic

Ecolips Hemp
Vanilla, 98% organic
$3.49
from Ecolips.com

[Organic jojoba oil, organic beeswax, organic hemp oil, organic calendula, natural vanilla flavor, Vitamin E, rosemary extract]

When I reviewed the Merry Hempsters hemp lip balm, I was told that Ecolips had a way better version. Well... it's time I put this balm to the test then. As you may recall, the Merry Hempsters Lemon-lime lip balm got a 4 outta 5. Let us begin...

This balm is very sophisticated. The tube, label design, everything about it. I would expect, like with the Merry Hempsters, to have some random funny stoner label or something that would make thing of Dead Heads, but Ecolips has stepped up. Although the cannabis leaf is on the label, it is presented well in the contrasting green. As a straight edger, I am not insulted by this label whatsoever.

It smells divine! It smells like vanilla bean gellato. De-lish! And it tastes just as splendid. It is vanilla-ish but it has a hint of chai...just a little dash of it though.

It glides on very well. It is not the slick greasy glide the Merry Hempsters provides. This is representative of a typical Ecolips glide. Smooth but not slick. Silky.

And this stuff wears long, like a typical Ecolips balm. I put it on after I ate, but this stuff wears for hours. And it also begins to absorb right away but even as its absorbing it leaves your lips just feeling so soft and quenched. It's the perfect feeling a lip balm can provide!

The only con to this lip balm, in regards to the Merry Hempsters hemp lip balm, is the lack of SPF. Some people swear by SPF balm so if that is you, I'm sorry. But I'm not too sorry 'cuz that means more for me.

Overall, I find this balm to be superior to that of Merry Hempsters. I'll risk lip-burn for the quality that Ecolips provides in this hemp balm.

Ecotints tinted lip balm in Rose Quartz

Ecolips Ecotints
Naturally glistening lip moisturizer
Color: Rose Quartz
$3.99 from Ecolips.com

[Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Castor Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Vanilla, Organic Aloe Vera, Tocopherol, Iron Oxides, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Candelilla Wax]

There are three colors to choose from: rose quartz, plush red, and mocha velvet.

I selected the rose quartz. It was the lighter of the colors. When you put it on it is a light shimmery berry pink.

When you put it on it smells like cocoa and coconut. It is pleasant, but it does not taste that great. It does not easily glide on your lips. I'm not to sure if it is the mica or what but this balm feels very dry and almost chalky. It tastes chalky.

I can't really testify for its durability because my lips do not like it. It lasted about an hour before i wiped it off because my lips felt so dry.

The color is nice and simple. This balm is a great alternative to lip stick, for those who want a natural product. This is a 90% organic lip balm.

My major problem with this balm is that it dries my lips out. On the Ecolips web page, they have customer testimonials of people who swear by this balm. It just did not work for me and i have never had any problems with the minerals found in it.

I am a HUGE Ecolips fan, as you can tell from my previous reviews, but this balm falls so short of their amazingness.

Overall, this balm makes a great natural lip color, if you are willing to have dry and chalky feeling lips.

Eco Lips Bee Free (and Beta Balm)

Eco Lips Bee Free in Lemon-Lime
& Beta Balm Bee Free Passionfruit

From Eco Lips

Lemon-Lime: $3.49
[Organic Golden Jojoba Oil, candelilla wax, organic cocoa butter, organic essential oils of lemon and lime, organic calendula extract, vitamin E, rosemary extract, and vitamin C. Over 70% certified organic ingredients. Gluten Free.]

Beta Balm Passionfruit: $2.99
[Organic jojoba oil, organic sunflower oil, candelilla wax, organic cocoa butter, organic flavor, vitamin E, rosemary extract]

You may be wondering why I have grouped these two balms together. You may say...well they are different prices, have different ingredients...they are different flavors!! Yes. Yes they are. I've chosen to combine this blog because they are both Bee Free products from EcoLips. The Bee Free Lemon-Lime is already a product of Eco Lips and seems to be a big seller. It is Vegan. They both are. The passionfruit is is a beta balm. A beta balm is a trial balm Eco Lips put out for limited sale through their website. I think the company may be expanding their Vegan, Bee Free line.

The Bee Free Lemon-Lime balm is very similar to the Merry Hempsters lip balm in regards to smell and taste. It glides on nicely, feels a tad greasy, but it quickly absorbs, leaving your lips nice and smooth. It is also 70% organic. It does have a solid durability. It is lip-licking good, so I would say that I re-applied this somewhat frequently. This stuff stays for about and hour or two, but I'm sure it would last longer if you have better self control than I do.

The Beta Balm Bee Free in Passionfruit was a gamble I took. It is a reasonable price and limited. Why not try it?! I must say I am pleased. It has a delightful texture and glides right on. It does not feel as greasy as the Lemon-Lime initially does. It smells like passionfruit but it tastes a lot more like a passionfruit and acia, which is actually fabulous. I favor the passionfruit over the Lemon-Lime. I think the scent and flavor is much better and I feel that it absorbs better.

The nice thing about both of these balms is the fact they don't get soft when they are in your pocket. I left the lemon-lime in the car, in the sun (I don't mean to do this I swear!), and it got a little soft, but did not liqui-fy.

I'm happy to see Eco Lips representing Vegans. Their products are of the utmost quality and the prices are extremely reasonable. They are expanding their flavors to go beyond the typical berry, cherry, strawberry, and vanilla that it seems like everyone offers.

I know this company is not a home made business, but these balms are made in small quantities by people. They even use solar power to power their little warehouse. I also called about a mix up with my order and spoke to the same person each time I called, and they were so friendly and helpful. They really are a socially conscience business who is also looking out for the environment. Their slogan is "Don't Panic, It's Organic."

Overall, this lip balm is really spectacular. My only issue is the fact that it is slightly greasy when you apply it.

Eco Lips Energy Lip Balm

Eco Lips is a young and growing lip balm company that focuses on organic lip balms and is no beginning to expand into the vegan market. (YEAH!!!)
It's made in Iowa and one of the purposes of this company is to spread the word and good of pesticide-free organic products.
I randomly stumbled upon this company searching on Ebay. They have a wide variety of lip balm, organic beeswax to their new Beta line that has a spf15 vegan balm. (I just ordered some so reviews will be coming!!!) I must say that as an organic lip balm company...I'm in love.

Eco Lips Energy Lip Balm
$3.49 from the EcoLips Energy website
[ Castor Oil, Castor Wax, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Beeswax, Caffeine, Organic Essential Oil of Peppermint, Organic Essential Oil of Spearmint, Green Tea Extract, Vitamin B12, Vitamin E, Rosemary Extract]

The big draw of this balm is the fact it's infused with Caffeine. Now, being a hardcore coffee junkie, I was intrigued. After the first application, I felt my heart speed up a bit. It definitely gives you a boost, but I think that boost depends on your caffeine tolerance.

This stuff glides on nicely. It has a sweet smell but it really smells like a Chinese green tea you could get a Bao. I think it was called a green meditation blend. Either way, this stuff is meant to smell like mint, but it's more of a tea-ish scent.

I wouldn't recommend licking this off your lips, it's not that pleasant of a taste.

It absorbs quickly but definitely wears a long time. It's perfect for the quick pick me up and that lingering energy buzz. I would see this as being the ideal lip balm for a concert scenario. You know when it's in between sets, everyone is just waiting and you're kinda tired cuz you just skanked/slammed/two stepped like WHOAAAA....this would be the optimal time for EcoLips Energy application.

Another nice aspect of this balm is the fact it doesn't melt that easily. I carry it around in my pocket and the consistency stays the same. However, I did leave it in my car once, and it got a bit soft being in direct sunlight in a black on black car. But please, learn from my mistakes.

This lip balm even gets cool points. The label has a warning.

WARNING: Use responsibly. Not recommended for children, pregnant women or persons sensitive to caffeine.

Just for that a lone its super rad.

Overall, I cannot say enough about the greatness of this lip balm. I'm sorry it's not vegan, and if you're a hardliner....or an anti-caffeine straight edger, this isn't for you either. For the price and the effect, it's worth it. But if you're a coffee/espresso fiend and or live at Spot coffee....this stuff might not seem all that potent. You will notice a boost, but just not like the one you get after a double red eye.
