The Body Needs Perfect Lip Balm

Ebay is a weird source for lip balm but as I was gandering about in search for fantastic Mango-ness, I stumbled across The Body Needs. These little lip balm pots contain natural oils, beeswax, and essential oils. So here are the specs on this nice little find...

The Body Needs Perfect Lip Balm
5 gram jar
$.99 per jar (+ $1.99 S&H, $.49 S&H for each other purchased/combined shipping)
Available @: here or Ebay store
Ingredient (according to website) [Sweet Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Avocado Oil, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, Flavor, and possibly essential oils]

I purchased Mango Mango and Grape. Let me first begin with how amazing and true these scents are. I am a big fan of both mango and grape. The mango scent can be brutalized whereas the grape scent is truly underrated. Here, The Body Needs creates an accurate smelling product, reminding me of natural suckers I used to buy at the farmer's market.

Flavor-wise, these things are lip-licking-goodness. Which is a pro and con. I re-applied these a lot, due to the fact they are lip confection and just so yummy. They leave your lips with a silky feeling, so that's alright. The Mango Mango reminds me of Snapple's Mango Madness. The Grape flavor was reminiscent of Grape Delsym. If you aren't into that flavor, then I don't recommend the Grape. Some people are really peculiar about that. I think both taste as good as they smell.

There are an array of flavors and scents on the website. Check them out. They are not all fruity flavors either. There is a chocolate one as well as a classic vanilla and even something involving caramel.

You clearly have to apply it with your fingers, but again I want to stress how silky it makes your lips feel.

My major beef with this product is the size of the container. I really think this lip balm would be better suited in a tube, rather than the small 5gram jar. I don't keep them in my purse because the first time I did, the screw-lids came off. Secondly, I have big hands and fingers. It's rather cumbersome trying to get any balm on your fingers for application. If I didn't play guitar and keep my nails short, I would foresee more problems than what I have now.

One cool thing I'd like to point out, is how you can mix your lip balms like this. Now, I would warn against mixing Grape and Mango Mango (I may or may not have tried and wanted to puke at the taste...) but if you ordered the vanilla and the chocolate, whoever is kissing you will be in heaven.

Overall, I'd say this lip balm is better than average. I would definitely recommend it over a balm bought at a drugstore or makeup store, but I wouldn't go as far to say it's the best natural lip balm out there. If you have a love for all things super sweet and or are 8 and want to get into natural lip balms, this is right up your alley.

Rating: 3.5 outta 5
