Aurora's Closet aromatherapy balms

Aurora's Closet aromatherapy balms
Available through Etsy Store
And Home Grown Market Store
Her Myspace

Price varies. I purchased a custom lot of 6 balms for $16 and that includes S&H which means each balm was about $2.67

[sweet almond oil, beeswax, jojoba oils, vitamin e, honey, and essential oils]

The woman who runs this home made business is fantastic. She supports organic products and indie sellers. I came across her on Ebay. (She's there too! She's everywhere! I love it!)

She offers a wide variety of customization and is conscience of allergies and irritants in products. I opted for the aromatherapy blends because I'm on this naturalistic kick.
I selected the following blends: cramps, happiness, weight loss, meditation, awakening, sinusitis

The consistency varies on these, it depends on the blend. You can request to have butters added.

Cramp Blend: I have only had one chance to use this. It's the only colored lip balm that I got. I believe it is from the select essential oils used. It's a sea foam green. It goes on clear. It has a great herbal scent. It's very strong and it does not really taste like anything. I would say that it does help. Along with th yoga I do to decrease cramps, this does dull the pain a lot. Its a bit hard, but when you run your finger over it a few times it gets nice and soft and is the perfect texture for putting on. It does not absorb right away but I think this is a plus. It lasts a while and the scent lingers for about 2-3 hours, depends on how much eating/drinking you do.

Happiness/ Stress reducer Blend: This is really an uplifting balm. It doesn't give you energy but it does make you take a deep breathe and just sigh with relief. It smells like a Jingle cookie and tastes pretty yummy. But I wouldn't recommend licking any of these balms. They are really herb-y in taste. This also lasts a while. It is softer though, so you can put it right one.

Weight Loss Blend: It is not the greatest smelling balm, but it reminds me of soda pop. It does seem to make me fee full. When I'm really hungry and I'm not near food, I put this on and I feel a lot less hungry. The thought leaves my mind. Which I think is great....really works with the whole weight loss thing.

Meditation Blend: My favorite. It smells wonderful. And let me tell you.... I put this on at night and I sleep sooooo well. I also like to put it on before I start reading, it really helps me to focus. It has a sweet taste, but it's not what I would label "lickable."

Awakening Blend: This is a staple, along with the Meditation blend, on my night stand. When I wake up in the morning, this scent is sooo uplifting. It is soft, so it is easy to apply. It really does make your eyes open wider and put a smile on your face. This is a really awesome blend, and I really recommend it. It made me a believer in aromatherapy.

Sinusitis Blend: Smelling this from the container really opens your airways. It is a very powerful scent and makes your nose cringe a little at first. Not because it's a harsh smell, rather the fact that it's so potent. I would compare this to a mix between Vix and a miracle drug. When I feel a sinus headache brewing I put this on and it works wonders. It doesn't completely take the headache away, but it does greatly dull it. While I was sick this past week it really helped with my congestion.

These balms are also just not for your lips. I've found you can put them under your nose and on your temples and they work just as well.

Overall, these are amazing herbal remedies. Kara, the maker, has made me a believer in aromatherapy. I can't really say anything negative about these. They don't taste amazing, but I bet she could fix that problem. I just requested high potency.

thanks girly! I just ran across this in a search for other vegan stuff! You're awesome, thanks for the great review!

Just a note though, I quit using beeswax when I went all vegan and it's now been replaced with castor vegetable wax (or nature wax if requested)

I also started sweetening them upon request!

Thanks for helping me spread the word! =]

I have a strawberry and cherry mix and it smells great! I don't lick it cause I want to keep it on my mouth not in it. :oP But it *is* lickable.

Thanks for the good review on Kara's stuff :D. I really like that she's so committed to making things not tested on animals, and things that are vegan and safe. I just wish that she wouldn't sell makeup, or start to sell makeup again, because, just like the supermodel body that the media tells us every woman should have, they also tell us that we have to wear makeup to look beautiful. Personally, I HATE makeup unless it's costume makeup, because then it's to create a certain effect on stage, and they usually go wild and crazy with it :D.
