This is my second purchase from M. Bea Soap Co. First was the loganberry lip tin, which was very pleasing. I ordered the Brambleberry and was able to get a free lip balm, and I selected the mango. (Go figure)
This lip balm rates about the same as the lip tin. The main difference is that it is in tubes. Which I appreciate. It wears a considerable while and glides on and is silky, not greasy or waxy feeling.
The Brambleberry smells like a berry iced tea drink. I've never actually smelled a brambleberry but it would seem scrumptious. The balm even tastes sweet and berry like.
The Mango was a bit of a disappointment. I know I have high standards for my mango flavoring, and this one does fall short. HOWEVER, if this were labeled "candy necklace" instead of "mango," I would be sold. This smells and tastes so much like the candy necklaces you bought for 10 cents at the grocery store when you were a kid. As the flavor of mango, it's not good....so I'm imagining that it is actually the candy necklace flavor....and it rocks!
These lip balms tingle a bit, compared to the loganberry lip tin. They don't quench my lips right at first but after some rubbing together it absorbs and feels delightful.
These also don't melt easily. After keeping one in my pocket and leaving the other, accidentally, in my car, both withstood a solid amount of heat. Especially the one in my car. It may be cold but in direct sunlight....it's toasty.
Overall, these are not overpowering in the scent and flavor department. They are a sophisticated lip balm, and I respect that. Their elegant tube design shows a mature edge was intended for this balm. The wide range of peculiar flavors makes M.Bea Soap Co a distinct little jewel in the homemade lip balm community.
